Well, it's been getting frosty again, so we're definitely into late Autumn.
Earlier we saw a reconstruction of the Battle of Prestonpans - this was an excellent and explosive event with loads of bangs and action. But the battle only lasted 15 minutes - just like the original! We also saw the new Prestonpans Tapestry, about the battle. It is now the longest tapestry in the world. If you get a chance to see it, do - it's wonderful.
There have been some lovely days and sunsets here, so plenty of opportunities for photographers, especially with the long winter shadows.
A lot has been going on in the village, including the drama club putting on a Murder Mystery. It was sold out and a great success, with everyone having a great time. Only one team managed to work out the solution too.
This year the Monster Bash moved to East Linton from Tyninghame. Once again it was a total wow, the bands were superb, especially our local band Coconut Dug (named Coconut Blood for the night). The costumes were amazing with almost everyone making a huge effort. £1,300 was raised to go towards improving the acoustics for the Hall. The cinema club 'Pix in the Stix' have also been successfully putting on shows at East Linton and Tyninghame with good audiences
We have put a new boiler into the flat, so the water is now piping hot on demand and the heating just right for the winter. Christmas is already booked, but there is space available at other times. Give it a try!
Our Tuesday cycling group has had some excellent rides recently, managing to make the best of the good weather. On a personal note I've managed to do some good rides, including a 100 mile sportive ride down to England and back without too much problem.
This month's photos are a mixed bunch as usual with various shots from East Lothian and Northumberland.
But best of all - we got married after so many years together - it was fabulous.
Hope to see you up here some time,
Alastair
